CRIF attends the Building Societies Annual Conference 2026, taking place on 28 & 29 April 2026 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre.
Now in its third decade, the BSA Annual Conference is the leading event for the UK mutual sector, bringing together over 1,000 senior leaders from building societies, credit unions, regulators, professional advisers, technology providers and industry partners. It’s a key opportunity to explore the ideas, insights and collaborations shaping the future of mutual organisations.
This year’s agenda focuses on the themes that matter most to the sector, including:
- AI‑enabled transformation: Multiple sessions explore how artificial intelligence is reshaping member engagement, operational efficiency, data strategy and intermediary support, moving beyond automation towards deeper understanding and personalisation.
- Future of mortgages and savings: Key discussions examine how consumer behaviour is changing, including how Gen Z and future generations may change mortgage demand, alongside sessions focused on managing savings headwinds and evolving depositor expectations.
- Regulatory and supervisory insight: Contributions from senior leaders at the Financial Conduct Authority and the Bank of England provide valuable perspective on regulatory priorities, proportionality, and opportunities for sustainable growth within the mutual model.
- Long‑term thinking and “2050 futures”: The programme includes forward‑looking conversations exploring demographic, societal and technological trends, helping organisations consider how today’s strategic choices will shape the sector over the coming decades.
Our team will be in Edinburgh across the conference and would welcome the opportunity to connect with peers, partners and building society leaders to discuss shared priorities and sector challenges.
